Police continues to reinforce quarantine restrictions imposed in Mestia municipality
Based on the decision of Inter-Agency Coordination Council, due to high epidemiological risk, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs continue to monitor the enforcement of quarantine restrictions in round-the-clock regime in Mestia municipality, – Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

According to the state agency,  the situation is calm in the municipality, the citizens obey the instructions of the police and the established regulations with high public responsibility.
“Special field infrastructure was organized in the villages of Barja and Lenger in the villages of Mestia Municipality, by the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In these villages, on the road connecting Zugdidi-Mestia, two tents were set up, where the police, together with the staff of the National Center for Disease Control, are conducting special registration of citizens. Thermal screening of people entering and leaving Mestia Municipality is underway at the checkpoints. The entrance to Mestia Municipality direction will be partially restricted, implying that entrance to the municipality will be permitted only to the local population. In case of leaving Mestia Municipality, citizens will have to undergo a quarantine period
The law enforcers provide local population, as well as the visitors in the mentioned area with comprehensive information on quarantine restrictions and, in case of necessity, maximally provide assistance.
Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are conducting intensive patrolling activities to maintain public order and security.
Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to remind citizens that, from August 10, based on the decision of Inter-Agency Coordination Council, due to high epidemiological risk, entry and exit from Mestia municipality was partially restricted, namely in Mestia settlement, Becho, Etseri, Idliani, Ipari, Kala, Latali, Lakhamuli, Lenjeri, Mulakhi, Nakra, Ushguli, Fari, Tskhumari, Tsvirmi, Tchuberi and Khaishi administrative units”, – the statement released by the Ministry.
