PM: Georgia continues working for EU membership in 2024

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili echoed the 4th anniversary of the visa-free regime to the EU countries on Sunday.

PM believes this event of great political importance opened new opportunities for Georgia, moved the country closer to the European family.

Garibashvili vowed that Georgia would continue working to apply for full EU membership in 2024.

“We do our utmost for our society, including the population of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region, to enjoy the benefits of the European integration,” PM stated.

The European Commission allowed Georgians to travel visa-free to the Schengen area on March 28, 2017.

According to Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani, more than half a million Georgian citizens have visited the EU countries more than a million times since 2017.
