PM accounts impressive results of last eight-year successful foreign policy

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili focused on the “indeed impressive” results of the government-led foreign policy in the last eight years.

PM Garibashvili accentuated visa liberalization and the Association Agreement with the European Union during the presentation of the Foreign Ministry’s ten-year action plan.

According to Irakli Garibashvili, Georgia’s clear foreign course is written in the Constitution, and the country reached progress on its NATO membership integration path.

“Georgia deserves NATO membership today, but we understand very well that this requires the final decision and consensus of all member states. Of course, we follow this path with strategic patience and readiness, and we believe that one day our country will indeed become a member of both – the European Union and NATO,” Garibashvili said.

Prime Minister named good and friendly neighbourly relations with Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey as another example of successful foreign policy. He said Georgia maintains to become a platform of peace and stability in the region.

Garibashvili also stressed that a high-level strategic dialogue was established with Turkey several years ago. Turkish President initiated this meeting to be held at the end of the year, PM said.
