Philip T. Reeker - The US is troubled by the deployment of Russian troops in the occupied territory of Georgia
Acting US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip T. Reeker, representatives of diplomatic corps and security experts visited the village Odzisi. The village Odzisi is bordering the occupied village Akhmaji, where currently the Russian military base is placed.

Philip T. Reeker said that the US is deeply troubled by the fact that Russia occupies one-fifth of Georgia`s territory.

„The United States and Georgia have a long-lasting partnership. The deployment of Russian troops in the occupied territory of Georgia, as well as, so-called bordarization is a cause of great concern. The United States has repeatedly called on the Russian authorities to stop illegal activities and withdraw troops from Georgia. We called on them to stop the occupation of Georgia and to fulfil obligations under the 2008 ceasefire agreement“, – Philip T. Reeker said.
