PCR Testing to be possible in 5 labs additionally from April 23

PCR Testing (used to directly detect the presence of an antigen, rather than the presence of the body’s immune response) will be possible in 5 labs additionally across Georgia – Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of the National Center for Diseases Control and Public Health said.

Gamkrelidze reported that a total of 695 PCR Testing were done in the last 24 hours and the 92% of those was carried out in three labs of Center for Diseases Control – Lugar Research Center, Batumi and Kutaisi.

Out of five additional labs, which will begin functioning starting April 23, three will be located in Tbilisi, one – Kutaisi and one – in Batumi.
