Parliamentary delegation to remotely participate in NATO PA spring session

The spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly is held on May 14-17 in an online format. Sweden organized the meeting.

The Georgian Parliamentary delegation, headed by Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Beraia, participates in the session remotely.

NATO Parliamentary Assembly President, Congressman Gerald E. Connolly addressed the sitting on the first day. He spoke about Russia’s aggressive moves against Georgia and Ukraine.

According to Gerald Connolly, NATO should continue to condemn Russian occupation, support Georgians, Georgia’s independence and territorial integrity. He welcomes resolving the political crisis in Georgia, and called on the sides to fully execute the reached agreement.

NATO PA President expressed hope that NATO allies would recognized Georgian and Ukrainian progress and that both countries would become NATO’s full-fledged members.
