Parliament to hold Extraordinary Session

Parliament will hold the Extraordinary Session at 16:30 this afternoon regarding declaration of State of Emergency by Prime Minister over the situation of novel coronavirus in the country.

Declaration of the state of emergency requires approval of the parliament. The procedures are determined by Article 71 of Constitution of Georgia.

The state of emergency will be in force starting March 21 to April 21.

Georgia confirmed three new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) bringing the total number of the infected individuals to 47 – reads the information posted on the special web-page stopcov.ge created by the government of Georgia.
