Parliament of Ireland adopts resolution about Georgia

The Foreign Affairs, Trade and Defense Committee of Irish Parliament adopted a resolution about Georgia in connection with the 100th anniversary of establishment of First Democratic Republic of Georgia.

The information released by Georgian Foreign Ministry says that with the resolution, Ireland welcomes political and sectored cooperation between Georgia and Ireland.

Based on the resolution, Ireland supports Georgia’s territorial integrity and state sovereignty and expresses concern about Syria’s recognition of Georgia’s occupied regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia as independent states.

The committee also welcomes Georgia’s progress on path of integration with European Union and activation of visa-free regime with Schengen zone countries for Georgian citizens.
