Parliament to adopt draft-bill on extension of statute of limitation into Zviad Gamsakhurdia’s death case

The Georgian parliament will adopt a draft-bill on the extension of the statute of limitation into death case of Zviad Gamsakhurdia, first President of Georgia, through a speedy manner – Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of Parliament said.

Kobakhidze said that the statute of limitation into Gamsakhurdia’s death case expires on December 31, 2018, and that the decision was made upon the request of first president’s family members.

President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili applied to the parliament about the issue on December 21. The investigation into the case has been in progress since 2015.
