Ozurgeti residents protest against aluminum processing plant construction

Locals in Ozurgeti, western Georgia, protested the construction of the aluminum processing plant in Ekadia settlement.

They claim the construction would put their health at hazard and endanger the environment. The non-governmental sector joined the protest.

Executive Director of the Arersa Metal Company Shavleg Migriauli denied the accusations and claimed that the plant would be constructed in line with the international standards posing no threat to human health.
