Effective August 10, wearing facemasks outdoors will become compulsory if more than five people gather, the Interagency Coordination Council decided on Monday.

The Council discussed the coronavirus-related regulations amid the worsened epidemiological situation in the country.

The government will strictly control the enforcement of acting regulations in restaurants and nightclubs. Catering facilities will be kept closed from 00:00 to 5:00 am.

Organizing crowded social events such as weddings, jubilees, funeral services will be banned. Violators will face the GEL 10,000 fine first, with further seal up, if they break the rule again.
