The opposition figures, NGOs and media outlets are rallying in Batumi ahead of the International Conference kick-off. They try to draw European Council President Charles Michel’s attention to the violent developments that unfolded in Tbilisi July 5-6.

“The EU should know that the Georgian Dream, with its actions and statements, derailed from the European path,” United National Movement member Mirdat Kamadadze said.

“We want to live in a European country. Our country is European and not fascist. All the abusers and order-givers must face justice,” journalist Lasha Tugushi said.

Police are called up on the spot.

Today, the Georgian coastal city of Batumi is hosting the International Conference over enhanced cooperation between the three associated partners of the European Union – Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova.

European Council President Charles Michel, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky and Moldovan President Maia Sandu are partakers.
