Opposition MP Salome Samadashvili visits UNM Chair Nika Melia in prison

MP Salome Samadashvili, a member of the United National Movement (UNM), visited UNM Chair Nika Melia in prison. MP said they discoursed the current political issues, but he did not specify the details.

According to Samadashvili, Nika Melia wants the opposition to stay united.

“Nika is very encouraged and satisfied with the release of Giorgi Rurua. He believes it is vital for the opposition to maintain unity. We spoke about the current political processes and ways to use Michel’s agreement most positively to free Nika and overcome the current political crisis in the country. He believes we should overcome all disagreements to start preparing for the local elections.

I think Nika knows very well that all the decisions I made were in the interests of our country and state. He also understands that my assessment of the best plan to find a way out of the situation may not always coincide with his,” Samadashvili said.
