Opposition and government agree to continue dialogue

“We agreed to continue the dialogue. I will have consultations with the Georgian Dream’s political council to set the next steps,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili stated after the meeting between the opposition and the government in the Presidential Orbeliani Palace on Monday.

“The meeting organized by Charles Michel took place in a very constructive atmosphere. We discussed several issues, the existing differences among the ruling party, the government and the opposition. Naturally, we have principled positions with a reasoned opinion on certain issues. We agreed that the dialogue would continue. I will have consultations with the political council of the ruling party. We will set the next steps. European Council President recommended finding a common language that best serves the interests of our country and people. I have reiterated that we should find a national common idea that will unite us, our nation. Our country needs a common national consensus, a common national consent today,” PM said.
