One new COVID-19 case confirmed in Zugdidi

One new COVID-19 case has been confirmed in Zugdidi, western Samegrelo region of Georgia. About 70-year-old man was infected with coronavirus.

The man arrived in Georgia through Larsi border checkpoint on June 12. He underwent PCR testing upon arrival and was transferred to the quarantine zone.

The test was negative and the man was discharged from the quarantine on June 14. The man then attended the funeral of a brother in Zugdidi.

The second testing proved suspicions on June 16 and the man was transferred to Rukhi Clinic. Search of contacts of the infected man is now ongoing. Seven people are placed in quarantine.
