Occupied Tskhinvali region reported 11 confirmed cases of COVID-19

The occupied Tskhinvali region reported 11 confirmed cases of COVID-19 – local media released this information based on the Deputy Chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Consumers’ Rights of Occupied South Ossetia, Anna Gagloeva.

“The total number of infected people is 11. One of them is a man from North Ossetia. Among the infected are students from Russian universities who arrived in South Ossetia from Russia last week” – Gagloeva said.

According to the occupied Tskhinvali region, there are about 160 students from Russia in South Ossetia. They are currently placed in quarantine.

The local media reported earlier on May 6 that the first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in the occupied Tskhinvali region.
