Nikol Pashinyan’s bloc wins the early parliamentary elections in Armenia
Armenia’s acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s bloc My Step has won a convincing victory in Sunday’s snap parliamentary election with 70.43 % of votes.
The Central Election Commission of Armenia ended the vote counting process at 07:30 local time.
Prosperous Armenia party went to the second place with 8.27 % of votes. Bright Armenia party won 6.37 % of the vote, the commission said.
The early parliamentary election was held in Armenia yesterday.
Nikol Pashinyan was elected prime minister by lawmakers in May, after weeks of anti-corruption protests. He stepped down in October so parliament could be dissolved ahead of the vote.
