Representatives of non-governmental organizations handed over three tents installed in front of the Parliament building to the protesters.

According to Giorgi Mshvenieradze, the head of the “Georgian Democratic Initiative” (GDI), NGO’s action has achieved its goal.

“The goal of our action was to remind the authorities that Mr. Saralidze and Mr. Machalikashvili had the right to install tents on Rustaveli Avenue, as authorities prevented them to do it. Therefore, our action, including the tents, was a solidarity action. We hope that Georgian police will no longer try to violate their constitutional right”, – Giorgi Mshvenieradze said.

According to him, the tents should be placed in front of the Parliament building until the participants of the rally use them and express their protest.

A group of NGOs put up tents in front of Parliament’s building in Tbilisi yesterday.
