A new poultry development program has been launched in six regions of Georgia with the financing of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

A total of 16 million Euros have been allocated for the implementation of the program in the form of grants and loans on highly favourable terms.

Small and medium-size farmers represented the target group. The farmers have to have 5-20 cows to become involved in the program.

The program will be carried out in Imereti, Samegrelo, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Kvemo Kartli, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kakheti regions.

Farmers will need to apply Agriculture Development Agency to obtain the co-financing. There are four applications submitted to the Agency so far.
