NDI Poll – 82% of population supports Georgia’s integration into the EU and 74% – NATO membership

The public opinion survey published by the National Democratic Institute (NDI) shows that support for EU membership has been increased by 4% and reached 82%.

Asked, do you approve or disapprove of Georgian government’s stated goal to join EU, 82 % of respondents said that they approve government’s stated goal to join the EU and 10 % said ‘disapprove’, while 8% answered that they did not know.

According to a previous survey, 78 % supported EU membership.

As for NATO, when asked whether approve or disapprove of Georgian government’s stated goal to join NATO.  74 % of respondents answer that they approve, 14 % said ‘disapprove’, while 11 % answered that they did not know.

Today, the National Democratic Institute (NDI) has briefed media on the survey results regarding public attitudes in Georgia.

The fieldwork of the survey was carried out between November 19 and December 13, 2019, through 2,180 face-to-face interviews with a nationwide representative sample excluding occupied territories.

NDI surveys are carried out by CRRC Georgia with the financial support of UK Aid.
