NBG says money transfers from abroad increased by 17.8% in June 2020

“In June 2020, the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted 169.2 million USD (514.8 million GEL), which is 17.8% (25.6 million USD) more than the amount in June 2019,” according to the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

As reported by the Bank, “94.5% per cent of the total money transfers from abroad came from 18 largest partner countries, with the volume of transfers from these countries each exceeding 1 million USD in June 2020. In June 2019 the share of these 18 countries constituted 93.2% per cent of the total volume of money transfers.”

In June 2020, 21.9 million USD (or 66.6 million GEL) was transferred from Georgia, which is 25.4% more as compared to 17.5 million USD in June 2019.
