NATO Mine Countermeasures Group Two enters Georgia

The NATO Mine Countermeasures Group Two (SNMCMG2) entered the territorial waters of Georgia. The group includes ships FGS RHEIN (Germany), TCG ERDEMLI (Turkey), BRG STIBAR (Bulgaria), ROS DIMITRIE NICOLESCUE (Romania) and SPS TURIA (Spain).

Commander Frank Maginsky of the German Navy will head the group. Representatives of Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and Adjara government hosted the guests at Batumi Port.

The ships of SNMCMG2 will stay in Georgia till November 5. They will take part in the training of Coastline Defense Department of MIA. This is the fifth visit of SNMCMG2 to Georgia.
