Mutso Rehabilitation Project to be awarded at Cultural Heritage Summit

President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili today will depart for Paris, France, to attend the European Cultural Summit 2019.

Press Service of the Presidential Administration informs that rehabilitation project of Mutso village-fortress in the historic Khevsureti region of Georgia will be named among the 27 winner projects at the summit, The project was selected by the competent jury from 149 applications submitted from 34 countries.

The National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia presented the project in 2018. The project was carried out in 2014-2018 with the financing of the Georgian government and Kartu Fund.

Mutso rehabilitation project was presented as the nominee of the competition at the European Cultural Heritage Summit in Paris on October 28.

The 2019 European Cultural Heritage Summit will be held from 27 to 30 October in Paris under the Patronage of Emmanuel Macron, President of France.

Over 400 participants from all over Europe are expected to attend the Summit. These are heritage professionals and volunteers from France, the rest of Europe and beyond. They are members of Europa Nostra and the European Heritage Alliance, partners from the wider fields of culture and economy, and representatives from various European Institutions and networks.
