Minister of Economy – Pilot stage of state program Open Net to be launched soon

The pilot stage of the state program for general accessibility to internet – Open Net will be launched soon – Natia Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development said.

Turnava claimed that the World Bank had reiterated its readiness to co-finance the project together with the Georgian government.

The main purpose of the program is to cover Georgian villages and provide them with high-speed internet.

“The program will refer to about 800 settlements where the optic-fiber cable may reach, and if farther is needed, we are ready to expand the area,” Minister said.
