Minister of Education explains decision made by authorization council in connection with Black Sea International University

The decision made by the authorization council was based on the problems reported to the council, – Mikheil Batiashvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, told journalists while commenting on the decision regarding the Black Sea International University.

According to him, the university has some problems with respect to quality. In addition, Mikheil Batiashvili noted that the applicants who wished to study at the International Black Sea University will be able to study at other universities.

“Students and provision of high quality education to them are very important factors for us, but he decision made by the authorization council was based on the problems reported to the council.

We understand that the organization has some problems, including financial. We will ensure that students can continue their studies at other universities. In fact, all students will be satisfied, none of them will remain without university,” Mikheil Batiashvili said.

Mikheil Batiashvili met with the students of the International Black Sea University yesterday. The meeting was held behind closed doors. According to the students, no agreement could be reached between the parties at the meeting.

The authorization council restricted the admission of new students by the International Black Sea University for one year.
