We urge the parties of the demonstrations not to exceed the legal frames of the right to assembly and expression, – Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia released the regarding statement.

According to the Ministry, the police will prevent every violation from both sides.

“As you are well aware, demonstration is currently being held on Rustaveli Avenue. Simultaneously, another demonstration has been planned in Pushkini Park at 19:00.

The duty of the Ministry of Internal Affairs constitutes ensuring public order and safety at every place of demonstrations. The Ministry will have a respective response to every violation of law by the participants of the demonstrations.

We urge the parties of the demonstrations not to exceed the legal frames of the right to assembly and expression.

Meanwhile, we warn the organizers of both demonstrations not to allow calling for violence and ensure that the demonstrations remain peaceful. The police will prevent every violation from both sides”, – the statement reads.
