MIA released a statement regarding detention of members of “National Movement” in Zugdidi
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has released a statement regarding detention of members of “National Movement” party in Zugdidi, Samegrelo region.
“The officers of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police were patrolling the territories near Narazen village, Zugdidi district, when the representatives of the ‘United National Movement’ did not allow them to move their car and verbally insulted them.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has detained 3 representatives of the party” United National Movement “in Zugdidi under Article 166 and 173 of the Administrative Code of Georgia – minor hooliganism and disobedience of requirement of lawful conduct,” – the Ministry statement reads.
Police detained Chief Press Officer Giorgi Pertaia and two other members of the National Movement – Ani Tsitlidze and Manuchar Chkhetia. Later Giorgi Pertaia and Ani Tsitlidze were released. Manuchar Chkhetia was transferred to the pre-detention isolator.
