MIA: Police will protect the right of freedom of expression of each citizen during the various rallies planned for the coming days

During the various rallies planned for the coming days, police will protect the right of assembly and freedom of expression of each citizen, if freedom of expression does not exceed legal permissible limits, – The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia released a statement.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges the participants of the rallies to act in accordance with the law. Otherwise, police will act within its mandate and every unlawful action will be immediately prevented.

“During the various rallies planned for the coming days, Ministry of Internal Affairs will protect the right of assembly and freedom of expression of each citizen notwithstanding their political views, religious belief, sexual orientation and any other signs, if freedom of expression does not exceed legal permissible limits. Ministry urges the participants of the rallies to act in accordance with the law. Otherwise, police will act within its mandate and every unlawful action will be immediately prevented”, – the statement reads.
