MIA launched investigation into the explosion near the Philharmonic Hall

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation under part 2 of Article 240 of the Criminal Code of Georgia on the fact of an explosion on M. Kostava Avenue near Tbilisi Concert Hall (Philharmonic).

“According to the initial information, an oxygen cylinder exploded during the repair works in the club “Deja Vu”.

As a result of explosion 3 individuals were injured, while one man died in place due to inflicted injuries. The victims were transferred to hospital by ambulance crews.

Law enforcers, fire and rescue services and ambulance doctors are mobilized at the scene. The perimeter has been delineated and investigative actions are being carried out.

The investigated is in progress on the fact of breach of safety regulations during mining, construction or other works that results in death”. – the statement released by MIA reads.
