Marina Carobbio Guscetti: We are proud of specific role that we play in Georgia-Russia relations

We are proud of the specific role that we play in relations between Georgia and the Russian Federation, – President of the Swiss National Council Marina Carobbio Guscetti made this statement at a joint press conference with the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Archil Talakvadze.

As Marina Carobbio Guscetti noted, Switzerland supports Georgia’s territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders.

The Swiss politician also said that consolidation of Georgia’s democracy would be supported in future as well.

“Switzerland will support the consolidation of Georgia’s democracy, which means a strong parliament, an independent judiciary and the rule of law. Respect-based political dialogue is also essential. Politics is the competition of ideas, not the confrontation of individuals. Switzerland supports Georgia’s territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders”, – Marina Carobbio Guscetti said.
