What the Georgian society witnessed yesterday on Rustavi 2 this was absolutely disgusting and immoral behavior, at the same time intended and dirty provocation, – Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze made this statement in relation with the monologue made by Giorgi Gabunia,  anchor of the program “P.S” on the air of  Rustavi 2 TV company.

It was not a single case and of course, these completely unacceptable phrases were not just voiced by separately one journalist. It was an aggression against the Georgian people that has been accumulated by the National Movement and its leader over the years. What the Georgian society witnessed yesterday on Rustavi 2 this was absolutely disgusting and immoral behavior, at the same time intended and dirty provocation, which was aimed at destabilizing Georgia and damaging our national interests. I would like to tell you that nobody can realize such scenarios in Georgia. We will not allow it,”-  Bakhtadze said.

In addition, according to the Prime Minister’s assessment, state agencies have made timely and proper statements in that regard.

On July 7, Giorgi Gabunia, the anchor of the program “P.S” of Rustavi 2 TV Company insulted Russian President Vladimir Putin using swear words. After the program TV Company released a statement. The anchors of Weekly Accents, Nika Gvaramia and Eka Kvesitadze, apologized for the statement of Giorgi Gabunia. Later, Protesters gathered outside the Rustavi 2 TV building and held a rally. The protesters demanded Gabunia to apologize publicly and quit the TV channel. The Prime Minister, President and Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia described the statement made by Gabunia as a dangerous provocation.
