It is of particular importance for each of us that there be no questions relating to the investigation of the events of 20-21 June, its quality and transparency, – Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze said at the briefing held before the governmental session.

According to the PM, he welcomes the involvement of the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia and the Public Defender in the process of investigation.

“I welcome the decision of the Prosecutor’s Office and I want to remind everyone that the case is being investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia. At the same time, I welcome the involvement of the Public Defender’s Office in this process.

Giorgi [Gakharia] has repeatedly stated that he will cooperate with the investigation and it is good that he works actively with the media,” PM said about Minister of Internal Affairs.

Resignation of Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Gakharia has remained unchanged of the protest in front of the parliament building since June 21 after the so-called Gavrilov Night when the protest was dispersed by the riot police with the use of tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannon. About 240 people both civilians and law-enforcers were injured during the night of June 20-21.
