According to Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze Georgian Church has already expressed its position on Ukraine’s autocephaly and the state respects the decision of the Mother Church.

Mamuka Bakhtadze made this statement when responding to the journalists’ question about when Georgia would recognize the autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church.

The Prime Minister of Georgia congratulated all Orthodox Christians on Christmas.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople handed over “tomos” of autocephaly to the head of the Ukrainian church, Metropolitan Epifaniy. The ceremony took place in St. George Church in Istanbul on January 6.
