Mamuka Bakhtadze: Equal development of Georgia’s regions is one of the Government’s priorities

As Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze stated in his speech at the opening ceremony of the Community Center in the village of Udabno, it is especially important to provide every citizen of Georgia with access to such services as quality education, healthcare, and social infrastructure.

According to the Head of Government, one of the Government’s priorities involves the equal development of every Georgian region as a precondition of the creation of a new economic model and of fostering economic development in the regions.

“I would like to congratulate the village of Udabno on the opening of the Community Center, the 12th in the Region of Kakheti. Indeed, it is an important event to any village, because the idea behind establishing Community Centers seeks to provide as many citizens as possible with access to services in our regions, villages,” Mamuka Bakhtadze said.
The Community Center in the village of Udabno is the 63rd throughout Georgia, and another center will open in a few weeks in Tkibuli.

“This center provides citizens with the same quality of services as that enjoyed in any big city. The Udabno Community Center will facilitate your access to more than 200 public and private sector services-fast and comfortable services. Our youth and adolescents will be able to use the latest technology, a modern-standard print and digital library, a meeting room, and free internet,” Mamuka Bakhtadze emphasized.

According to the Prime Minister, the center will house branches of private companies to offer their services to the population. Importantly, the Head of Government underlined, the village’s pensioners will receive their pensions on the spot.

Mamuka Bakhtadze also singled out the potential of the Udabno village, pointing out that the Government will put in place infrastructure required for further developing tourism.

“A few years ago, we finalized the water supply project, one of crucial importance to all of you. Yet there is other infrastructure to be provided, especially road infrastructure, and I pledge that we will solve this issue in the nearest future. Nearby is the Davit Gareji Complex, a unique monument cherished by every Georgian, every Christian, and this complex offers the village of Udabno tremendous tourism potential. I promise that all of you, in the nearest future, will see for yourselves increasing numbers of tourists and growing economic development in your village,” Mamuka Bakhtadze stated.
The Community Centers, with more than 200 public and private sector services offered to the population, will gradually expand to cover the entire territory of Georgia.
