“Georgia leads among other countries in terms of doing business and our wish is to see more US corporate investments in the country” – stated Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia at a meeting with US corporate business leaders in Washington D.C. today.

Head of the Government exposed the hosts to the reforms implemented in Georgia, which are aimed at the accelerated economic growth, along with a small and medium enterprise (SME) development.

US-Georgia strategic partnership was underlined at the meeting and it was noted that Free Trade Agreement (FTA) may serve as a significant step forward towards the development of bilateral economic relations.

Prime Minister of Georgia spoke about the democratic and economic transformation of the country, its potential to get shaped into a business, trade, logistics and tourism hub. Head of the Government noted that Georgia is a gateway for 8 countries with no access to the sea and one of the fastest growing consumer markets in the world. Focus was made on the leading rankings of Georgia in international indexes and ratings. Also, reference was made towards the projections made by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which evidence that Georgia will lead in the region by economic growth during the following three years.

Head of the Government of Georgia spoke in detail with US corporate business leaders about the comprehensive reform plans, unprecedented tax reform and noted that Georgia is among the leading countries with lowest tax rates.

Prime Minister of Georgia focused on the modernization of infrastructure, highways, development of railway and deep see port of Anaklia, digital transformation and e-service introduction initiatives.

Head of the Government of Georgia underlined the significance of education system reform and stated that authorities intend to let it dominate in the economy of the country, as development of the human capital is a very high priority.

Meeting was also related to the environmental vision of the Government of Georgia on Green Policy, which is aimed at making environment healthier, natural resources – sustainable and organic food production – incentivized.
