Lithuanian President says Žygimantas Pavilionis statement to be one MP’s separate regrettable stance

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda said that the statement of Žygimantas Pavilionis (Lithuanian politician) does not represent the country’s position but is a separate regrettable stance of one MP against friendly relations between Georgia and Lithuania, said Shalva Papuashvili, a majority lawmaker. According to Papuashvili, President of Lithuania adequately assessed Žygimantas Pavilionis’ statement.

“The Lithuanian President echoed the statement made by Chairman of Lithuanian Seimas Foreign Affairs Committee who claimed in one of the interviews that he waged a private war with Bidzina Ivanishvili (former Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party), with the GD and Georgian government.

It is good that President gave adequate evaluation to the statement. Gitanas Nausėda noted that the statement of Žygimantas Pavilionis did not represent the country’s position but was a separate regrettable stance of one MP that does not serve friendly relations between Georgia and Lithuania. I hope that Lithuanian Seimas will also respond to such a thoughtless statement of its member,” Shalva Papuashvili said.

In the video released by Russian pranksters, Žygimantas Pavilionis talks about Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, as well as about the work of the opposition and civil society in these countries. He notes that he now has “his war with Ivanishvili in Georgia.”
