We have unprecedented dynamics in terms of deepening NATO-Georgia cooperation, – Georgian Defense Minister Levan Izoria made this statement. Levan Izoria has met NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg and Deputy Secretary-General Rose Gottemoeller in Brussels today.

“This year we have unprecedented dynamics in terms of deepening our cooperation, which is primarily reflected in the implementation of NATO-Georgia exercise in March.

It should be noted that the Georgian side will plan and implement the exercise. In parallel, high-level strategic importance visits are planned. NATO Secretary General and NATO Military Committee will visit Georgia”, – Levan Izoria said.

Georgian Defense Minister Levan Izoria met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and his deputy Rose Gottemoeller in Brussels, where the Defense Ministerial is underway. According to the Ministry, the parties discussed Georgia’s integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures and the growing support of the Georgian population for this process. The NATO-Georgia relations, the role of Georgia in the Black Sea region and international security, the defense transformation process and the NATO-GEO EXERCISE 2019 scheduled for March were also discussed at the meeting. The sides also spoke about the future plans of cooperation and noted that the current year would be quite busy with high-level visits, international exercises and various events.
