About 230 thousand tons of grapes, a record amount, was gathered and processed in 2018, and the income of vineyard owners exceeded 300 million GEL – Levan Davitashvili, Agriculture Minister stated.

Davitashvili said that more than 280 private companies were involved in the procession of harvested grapes this harvesting season.

Minister of Agriculture summed up Vintage 2018 and introduced journalists with the activities carried out by the government with purpose of development of the wine-producing industry. He said that wine export was increased and markets were diversified.

According to Davitashvili, more than 800 small, medium-size and large enterprises were registered at National Wine Agency. Their number in 2012 was 50.
