Laboratory-confirmed cases of influenza have been reported in Georgia – Head of the Center for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze said.

“We have about 10 laboratory-confirmed cases. We urge the population to adhere to appropriate preventive measures – the vaccine is the best preventive measure,” Gamkrelidze said. However, he excluded the possibility of the situation’s worsening.

Gamkrelidze said that about 39 thousand people received the vaccination. The private sector financed the vaccination to 10 thousand people.
