Kakha Kaladze: Tbilisi will definitely be a city full of life; development, ecology and transport problems will be solved

Today is a historic and important day, Tbilisi has a new General Plan – the city’s development constitution, – Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said at today’s briefing.

According to Kaladze, today with the adoption of this document, Sakrebulo will ensure the right and long-term development of the capital.

“We have worked over the General Land Use Plan of Tbilisi all together- authors, experts, municipal services, members of the city council; I would like to thank each of them. For 20-25 years, a number of problems have accumulated in the city: chaotic constructions, grave environmental situation, traffic jams, faulty public transport infrastructure, etc. The main source of these problems was the lack of a systemic vision and a single plan for city development. Our team started work with policy management changes and proper organizational reform”, – Kakha Kaladze said.

According to him, approval of the General Plan is the first important step for the proper development of the city.

“Tbilisi will definitely be a city full of life, in which development, ecology, transport issues will be solved”, – he added.
