Journalist of the Georgian First Channel Nika Mukhigulashvili, who was beaten by law enforcement officers, left the Ministry of Internal Affairs after several hours of interrogation.

He recalled the details of an incident when he was physically assaulted.

„At the Kostava Avenue, law enforcers searched for the protesters, those who overturned the car and declared disobedience. At that time, my operator David Tsirekidze and me were together with law enforcement officers, we entered the building where people were hiding and began shooting the developments.

Initially, the police told us that we had no right to shoot, but we agreed that we would shoot from afar. Then the situation escalated. Several law enforcement officers and a civilian approached and demanded to erase the footage, but we refused. They began to touch the camera, tried to get the chip out, we did not allow. They knew that I was a journalist but started assaulting me physically. About 4-5 people were beating me, I was finally arrested and brought to the police department”, – Nika Mukhigulashvili said.
