NATO welcomes Georgia’s readiness to engage in dialogue with Russia on the issue of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali , – NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said at the press conference held in Brussels today.

According to NATO Secretary General the progress achieved by Georgia will be recognised at the Alliance’s July summit.

“I expect the progress achieved by Georgia in terms of reforms will be recognised at the summit in July, especially its contribution to the Afghan peacekeeping operation,” – Stoltenberg said.

According to him, last week he met with the President of Georgia and expressed his condolences over the Archil Tatunashvili’s death case.

According to Jens Stoltenberg, NATO declares political and practical support to Georgia.

“We declare the political and practical support to Georgia and appreciate the impressive reforms, as well as the readiness of Georgia to engage in dialogue with Russia on the issue of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali,” – NATO Secretary General said.
