Irakli Kobakhidze: One-party parliament is not good. We believe it will not happen so

“The expectation is very positive and it has a very specific basis. A one-party parliament is not good and we believe it will not happen so,” said Irakli Kobakhidze, the Executive Secretary of the Georgian Dream.

Kobakhidze expects the opposition will enter parliament and not give up seats.

“As we know, the opposition has already started preparations from Kakheti, Zugdidi and Tbilisi constituencies, they have started working here, mobilizing agitators.

As for the funding, of course, it is logical that if a party refuses to enjoy the privilege bestowed on it by the people, its electorate, then naturally it should not receive any other privileges related to elections and mandate, including state funding. This issue will probably be discussed by the parliament,” Kobakhidze said.

MP Kobakhidze added that the meeting between the ruling team and the opposition with the involvement of the diplomatic corps is theoretically possible.
