“Our main goal is to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections,” Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Parliament stated during the briefing held at the head office of Georgian Dream Party.

Pre-election processes were assessed during the briefing 2 weeks ahead of the presidential elections. According to Kobakhidze, the government offered opponents holding of the European-type pre-election campaign but the opposition showed disrespect and insulting in return.

Kobakhidze talked about various faults, violations, and attempts of psychological pressure in direction of Salome Zurabishvili, a presidential candidate supported by the ruling team.

“The pressure is not successful since prominent public figures and wide society are involved in Salome Zurabishvili’s campaign,” Chairman of Parliament stated.
