April 9 is the day reminding us the importance of unity and unanimity – the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze commented concerning the 30th anniversary of April 9.

“April 9 is the day reminding us the importance of unity and unanimity. Georgian people have never been so united and unanimous as on April 9, 1989 and henceforth. We remember developments after April 9 and the key factor conditioning absence of unity and discord in the society. Hence, we shall learn from history and do our best to ensure unity and unanimity in the society. This is the very aspiration of the letter Bidzina Ivanishivili introduced to the society today”.

We witness the attempt of radicalization and discord and the ruling party shall facilitate unity and the progress of the country.

“Some political parties try to entail radicalization and discord willing to revenge instead of the progress of the country. Our task is to ensure the progress of the country and to prevent everyone from attempting radicalizing in society. We are aspired to facilitate to the unification of the society towards the common goal – development of the country, the realization of foreign policy priorities, enhancement of our international positions and improvement of welfare in the country”, – he added.
