Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II delivered a liturgy at Sioni church in Tbilisi. Ilia II congratulated the believers on Annunciation Day and asked them to read Virgin Vary prayer together with him.

“Annunciation is such a big holiday that even birds do not build nests that day as I have heard from ancestors,” Patriarch stated.

The holiday depicts the primary annunciation that was made by Archangel Gabriel to Virgin Mary about birth of Jesus Christ.

According to the Christian faith, while Virgin Mary was reading the Bible, Archangel Gabriel appeared and told her she would soon give birth to a son, who would be named Jesus.
