Ilham Aliyev – Georgian President’s visit shortly after elections confirms that our relations are highly important

Relations with Georgia are highly important for us and we are glad that the relations are developing successfully – President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said after the meeting with Georgian counterpart Salome Zurabishvili being on an official visit to Azerbaijan.

Aliyev congratulated Zurabishvili on election as president and underlined that Georgian President’s visit shortly after elections confirmed how Georgian-Azerbaijani relations were important for President of Georgia.

“We have had century-long relations. Our peoples always lived in a friendly atmosphere. We are building new relations on these strong-basis relations and cooperate in all spheres,” Aliyev stated.

President of Azerbaijan also said that Georgia and Azerbaijan always supported each other in international organizations regarding the issue of territorial integrity.
