Ilham Aliyev - Azerbaijan has stopped 'the plague of revolutions'

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev says Azerbaijan has stopped ‘the plague of revolutions’ because the revolutions have only caused trouble,’ President Aliyev said at the ceremony to mark 100th anniversary of Baku State University.

‘In 2005, Azerbaijan was mentioned as the next place where the revolution would take place. T-shirts were issued with the words ‘Georgia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan’.

In other words, we were expected to be fourth, followed by other countries, but we stopped ‘the plague of revolutions’ – this disease, this virus.

Now the whole world sees that these revolutions put those countries into trouble and they stayed face-to-face with their own problems.

The riots are non-stop in these countries where the poisonous revolutionary seeds were planted.’

As Ilham Aliyev added, Azerbaijan will never depend on anyone and no one will interfere in the internal affairs of the country.
