Austrian Interior Minister - It was very risky for us to bring Machalikashvili to Vienna

The Austrian government explains reason for refusing to accept Temirlan Machalikashvili for treatment to Vienna, Austria.

Austrian media outlet Krone published the statement of Austrian Interior Minister Herbert Kickl.

“It was very risky for us to bring the terrorist linked suspect to Austria, as his treatment in Vienna might create serious threat to the internal security of the country. Of course, potential supporter of the terrorists are not allowed to enter our country. Due to security measures, we do not allow suspects of terrorism to enter Austria,” – said the minister.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Austria, there was a big risk that an attempt to release Machalikashvili or attack might be carried out that could end with casualties.
