Health Ministry - Suspension of flights to Italy or other EU countries not considered currently

The issue to restrict travel to Italy or other EU countries is not currently under consideration  – Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia told reporters in response to a question about a possible suspension of flights to Italy amid the recent coronavirus outbreak.

However, the Deputy Minister of Health does not rule out tightening of monitoring measures at the border checkpoints.

Tamar Gabunia said that in many countries, groups of scientists are working on a vaccine.

“The exact date of when the vaccine will be available is unknown. At least six months is the minimum period that it may take under the most optimistic scenario”, – Gabunia said.
